Nathan and the team from Prince Street Barbers in Grafton NSW emailed me asking to create a custom illustration that binds well with their branding and message while holding itself well on apparel and promotional items like stubby coolers.
They are the "Modern Mans Barbershop", so they have a traditional Barbershop style while incorporating some modern touches. Every time I go to visit them, it starts off with a strong handshake and a good chat... Followed by a beer hahaha The handshake is such a great thing as it breaks the ice for new customers coming to meet them, shows how nice and friendly the team are and it's a respectful gesture to do in general, so it was great when Nathan mentioned he would love to add this into the design.
This illustration design was influenced heavily by traditional barbershop artwork and tattoo designs. Holding a strong hand-drawn feel, custom text and nice full image of barbershop placed around the design.
Another nice quirky thing is running the Prince Street Barbers "Barber" in the design, as this is a great subtle feature that helps customers connect it to their business.
